Summary:
MOXI is seeking a Guest Services Assistant Manager.
This position will serve as a consistent representative of the organization in public areas, ensuring cleanliness, customer service and staff are all exceeding expectations.
Reports to:
AssociateDirector of Guest Services
Responsibilities:
Serve as the museum Manager or alternate Manager on Duty.
Augment the Guest Service Ambassadors at the front desk when needed.
Greet and welcome guests proactively in a friendly, professional manner.
Responsible for fulfilling donation requests from non-profit organizations.
Ensure the Guest Services Ambassador team follow proper cash control, properly process sales, are highly efficient, are courteous, and exceptionally friendly.
Assist the Guest Services Manager with building and maintaining a team of professional front-line staff who reflect Santa Barbara County's diverse community.
Assist the Associate Director of Guest Services in the creation and implementation of department systems, policies, and procedures that promote guest safety and comfort.
Assist with training that elevates the performance of the Guest Services Ambassadors.
Serve as the museum's expert in best practices for guest relations strategies and tactics that continually seek to improve the overall guest experience.
Identify ways to improve accessibility and inclusion for all museum guests.
Stay abreast of organizational and community happenings such that staff be knowledgeable, disseminate relevant information to guests, and promote upcoming programs and events.
Be present in public spaces, directly observing the quality of the guest experience on a frequent basis.
Provide related insights and direction, representing the guest perspective in management meetings.
Assist with crowd control, resolution of guest issues, and monitoring of guest flow throughout the day.
Assist the operations team in developing and implementing methods of evaluating the overall guest experience.
Inter-department collaboration that focuses on continuous improvements and aspires to excellence in all areas impacting the guest experience.
Collaborate closely with other members of management to ensure readiness for emergency procedures.
Assist the Operations Department on facility work orders and assigned projects.
When needed assist with Altru and the Museum Store.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements, Skills &
Qualifications:
Passion for creating a world-class museum that provides the best guest service and is recognized as a truly outstanding educational experience.
Exceptional leadership and management skills Proven track record of developing, building, motivating, training, and supervising a strong and diverse team of employees.
Conscientious and detail-oriented; must understand the necessity of following through with paperwork, record-keeping, and documentation.
Ability to organize and prioritize varied tasks in a manner that most effectively serves the needs of the organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills:
must be receptive to the ideas of others and able to work cooperatively.
Enthusiasm for working in an organization where change is frequent, the structure is evolving, and flexibility, teamwork, and good humor are absolute necessities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to learn new systems and emerging technologies.
Awareness of issues relating to access and inclusion and the ability to build inclusive and accessible programs.
Spanish fluency a plus.
This position is expected to work a rotating schedule as per the needs of the museum.
Education and Experience requirements:
3
years of experience in hospitality/customer service discipline preferred.
Prior management or supervisor experience.
Prior experience in a museum, cultural center, or entertainment attraction is desired.
Prior experience with point of sales, including familiarity with proper cash handling practices.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position.
This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule which includes weekdays and weekends, holidays, some evenings, and some early mornings.
Predictable and timely attendance is required.
Must be able to work with multiple technologies, stand for extended periods of time, troubleshoot issues, problem solve, communicate effectively and courteously verbally and in writing, bend, squat, and lift 50 lbs.
