This position will be responsible for greeting visitors, selling admission tickets and Memberships, monitoring visitor flow, periodically walking the museum floor, all while delivering a high level of customer service.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, dependable, and detail-oriented individual, familiar with proper cash handling techniques, exhibiting excellent customer service skills, and committed to positively impacting our guests' experience.
Specific Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests proactively in a friendly, professional manner.
Answer questions and provide information about MOXI and the surrounding area.
Responsible for selling general admission tickets, Memberships, and programs to visitors.
Abide by all Front Desk and cash handling policies and procedures.
Learn and operate both point of sale (POS) systems (front desk and museum store) with accuracy and efficiency.
Walk the museum floor throughout the day to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
Clean and restock loose parts on the museum floor.
Assist MOXI's Exhibit team with opening and closing of the floor exhibits.
Answer phone, screen, and direct incoming calls and messages.
Receive mail and packages and sort as appropriate.
Manage guest requests, complaints, and praises in a positive, helpful manner, both at the Front desk and on the museum floor.
Monitor visitor flow throughout and notify supervisor of any concerns.
Effectively manage queue lines while interacting with guests.
Assist with special events at MOXI.
Replenish informational brochures and pamphlets as needed.
Maintain current knowledge of museum events, programs, Membership, and exhibits.
Assist with data entry.
Report all safety concerns to proper authorities.
Make periodic public announcements.
Support MOXI staff with light clerical duties, including sorting, document assembly, and mail stuffing.
Light cleaning and disinfecting exhibits.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities Excellent customer service skills.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
Bilingual fluency a plus.
POS and cash handling experience.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, busy environment.
Desire to work as part of a team.
Ability to listen actively to guests and be responsive to their needs and expectations.
Capable of working a flexible schedule to accommodate the museum's needs; work hours will include weekends, holidays, evenings, and occasional early mornings.
Employment background/criminal check is required.
Minimum Qualifications This regular, part-time position requires the ability to:
work a flexible schedule of both weekdays and weekends (at least one weekend day is required), holidays, evenings, and some early mornings; be highly energetic and timely; bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Must maintain regular and predictable attendance.
