Treatment Counselor non-profit organization The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse (CADA) is hiring a Treatment Counselor to work in our adult residential detox program, ARTS.
Interesting and rewarding position working with adults who are in need of detox and/or residential care to begin their recovery from drugs and/or alcohol.
We work with adults who are self-referred, referred from an outside source, and/or court mandated.
Be a part of a robust team of Alcohol and Drug Counselors and Therapists assisting individuals in the residential setting.
This position provides valuable training for those interested in doing one on one counseling and group work with adults, as well as case management, all in a residential setting.
We work with clients facing their addiction, as well as those with co-occurring disorders.
Counselor will receive training and experience in:
assessment, treatment planning, substance use disorders, case management, relapse prevention, and appropriate documentation of all of these services.
Counselor will also learn about and utilize various evidence-based curriculum's to work with clients in navigating their sobriety.

Part-time or full-time.
Rate increase potential for bilingual (Spanish/English) & depending on prior training/experience Supervision available weekly for AOD Counselors and clinical staff (AMFT or ASW) needing hours for licensure.
Qualifications:
AOD registration/certification (registration can be in process after hire) or LMFT, LCSW, AMFT, or ASW.
Experience in the drug and alcohol field preferred.
Specific knowledge of individual and group counseling principles and techniques, and of substance abuse assessment and case planning.
Ability to communicate verbally with clients from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
Job Duties Include:
Helping clients in formulating and implementing their treatment plan Conducting individual and group substance abuse counseling, education, and relapse prevention sessions Maintaining client charts; completing client assessments, and all relevant clinical documentation in a timely manner that meets high professional standards Helping clients navigate physical and mental health needs through appointment attendance with their providers and giving transportation as needed Support and collaborate with ARTS staff, as well as involved supports, in advocacy for clients Compensation DOE.
This is an in-person position and candidate would be required to work with clients in our residential facility.
CADA requires that all staff providing in-person services with clients receive the Covid-19 vaccine, as well as a booster dose.
